Below I showcase service that I have done to support my communities in Long Island, New York, and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Working with Young Women with Autism at AHRC, Long Island, New York
(June 2021 – August 2021)

I supported young women (ages 19-24) with Autism to lead safe, fulfilling lives. I did so by helping the women achieve everyday tasks such as socialization, safety, household chores, and self-care routines. I also aided in keeping track of the women's health status, such as bowel movements, menstrual cycles, and meals.

I also dedicated some weekends to supporting young adults with Autism at daycamp. Here, I would help coordinate activities and support the young adults to eat, use the restroom, and have a good time.

Working with Pre-School Children with Special Needs, VCLC, Long Island, New York
(July 2021 – August 2021)

I was a teacher's aid at Variety Child Learning Center, a school dedicated to children with special needs. As a free-floater, I was exposed to various children with specific needs. For example, I worked with children who have behavior problems, speech problems, autism, and more. I gained experience in working with younger children who may not be able to communicate with themselves. I also learned firsthand the importance that play has on a child's development.

Tutoring, OEC, Ann Arbor, MI
(September 2019 – June 2021)

As a tutor for Opportunities to Educate Children (OEC), I was tasked to tutor elementary and middle school students once a week with their homework. In my first year, I was paired with a middle schooler and tutored her twice a week. I started tutoring once a week but increased it to twice a week due to the additional student's needs.

In my second year, I was paired with an elementary schooler and a middle school whom I each supported once a week.
